Cinema Industry Awards: Rules and Regulations
1. Eligibility Criteria
- Films must have been completed within the eligibility period specified by the festival.
- Films must be independently produced, and not financed or distributed by major studios.
- Entries must be submitted in their original language. Non-English films must include English subtitles.
2. Submission Guidelines
- All entries must be submitted through the official submission platform.
- Each submission must include a completed entry form and a digital copy of the film.
3. Categories
- Submissions can be entered into the following categories: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Production Design, Best Costume Design, Best Original Score, Best Sound Design, Best Visual Effects, Best Documentary, Best Animated Feature, Best International Feature, Best Debut Director, Best Ensemble Cast, Best Live-action Short Film, Best Short Documentary, and Best Short Animation.
- Films may be submitted in multiple categories, there is no cost to submit.
4. Selection Process
- Submissions will be reviewed by a panel of industry professionals selected by the festival.
- The selection process is confidential, and decisions made by the panel are final.
- Nominees will be notified by the date specified on the festival’s website.
5. Judging Criteria
- Films will be judged on artistic and technical merit, originality, and overall contribution to the art of independent filmmaking.
- Judges will consist of experienced professionals from various sectors of the film industry.
6. Awards
- Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony.
- Physical awards (trophies, plaques, etc.) will be presented to the winners.
- Winners may be required to provide additional materials (e.g., promotional stills, posters) for publicity purposes.
7. Rights and Clearances
- The submitter must ensure all necessary rights and permissions for the film have been obtained.
- By submitting a film, the submitter grants the festival the right to screen the film at the festival and use excerpts for promotional purposes.
8. Legal Disclaimer
- The festival reserves the right to disqualify any submission that does not adhere to the rules and regulations.
- The festival is not responsible for any claims or damages arising in connection with the submission of a film.
9. Dispute Resolution
- Any disputes arising out of or in connection with the festival will be resolved through arbitration in the jurisdiction specified by the festival organizers.
10. Amendments
- The festival reserves the right to amend these rules and regulations at any time..
